UK SNOW ALERT – HEAVY, SIGNIFICANT Snowfall Expected Tomorrow

An Atlantic front will make in roads into very cold air currently in situ across the British Isles & Ireland tomorrow (Friday) morning, as it does so it’s looking very likely much of the rain will turn to snow, which in places is expected to be heavy. Initially treacherous traveling conditions are expected across Northern England and much of central, southern Scotland with drifting and blizzard conditions in places, accumulations could be upwards of 10cm. UK Snow Warning:

As the precipitation heads into Ireland and Wales earlier on Friday, it’s likely snow will be restricted to mostly places above 1,000ft of elevation, however as it heads into mainland England & Scotland, there’s a lot of uncertainty about the snow level, however most central and southern parts of England & Wales will see rain or sleet. Indications suggest much of northern England & Scotland, especially but not restricted to high ground, will see some very poor conditions on Friday with heavy, settling snow likely however
