Named Winter Storm Helena, targeting New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and North and South Carolina states, the storm will intensity in the next few hours to bring heavy and rather unusual snowfall totals of up to 10" across some parts of North Carolina and Virginia *particularly the Virginia/North Carolina border. However a more widespread area including the East Coast and as far South as South Carolina will be affected by milder accumulations.
In the next 12 hours, the storm will intensify, before gradually migrating North Eastwards affecting coastal areas such as Atlanta City and New York City, the storm will eventually dissipate by the later stages of the weekend. TIME OF ALERT: RIGHT NOW UNTIL SUNDAY 7AM.
