Anymore Snow? Forecast for the Next Few Days | 27.10.2018 19.40 |

Currently temperatures are more akin to what you might expect in January, not the end of October. It will remain cold for the next few days, however later next week temperatures may start to pick up towards average, but it will remain on the “cold side”.

Snowfall in the North York Moors this morning thanks to @NorthYorksWx

Overnight snow showers affected Northern Scotland and North East England last night with snowfall accumulating above around 200 metres (600ft) in height. The good (or, I guess bad for some) news is that there is very little in the way of a further risk of snow. Bar the potential for some wet snow above 350m in altitude across North East England and Eastern Scotland on Monday, most of us will probably stay “snow-free” for a considerable length of time, before the next cold snap.

Some wet snowfall may affect the higher parts of North East England and Eastern Scotland on Tuesday, but it will be insignificant be and be restricted to the highest of grounds really.

This means that tonight showers that fell as snow last night will probably be more like rain tonight :). Some places will see showers, especially in the east, snow still but above a higher 400 metres (1,300ft) in altitude.

Temperatures will drop rapidly tonight allowing an in land frost to form for all areas apart from South East England. Here increased cloud will largely prevent a frost from developing. There will be a lot of sunshine tomorrow after a very cold start, provided you don’t live in North West Scotland or the far South East of England, a little more cloud here tomorrow. But it will mostly be a crisp and dry day so if you have any outdoor plans, just watch for a little ice on higher altitude areas, otherwise a simply gorgeous day.

Another cold one on Sunday night, colder than tonight.

Minimum temperatures Sunday night. More widespread frost in the west but once again temperatures slightly higher for south east England compared to elsewhere

Temperatures of -2 or -3C in a few spots, most about 0 to 2C. Variable cloud amounts but mostly dry through Monday morning, into the evening some rain will push into north east England and eastern Scotland, this could fall as wet snow in upland regions but will be rain to lower levels. The increased cloud for England and Wales on Monday night into Tuesday morning means the risk of frost will be somewhat lower. However Scotland and Ireland could still see plummeting temperatures and some frost early on Tuesday.

There is some uncertainty regarding Tuesday’s forecast. What it does look like is that it will be a much grayer day with a dank and damp feel. There may be some brighter spells in the south west, for south west England and southern Ireland, however it does look like a very miserable, cold and windy, wintry day for the east coast with outbreaks of rain and possibly some sleet on higher ground.

Looking further ahead, it does look “more unsettled” through the week. There will be some outbreaks of rain, can not say exactly where and when but there will be some for most of us, especially in the South. Temperatures will be stuck at about 6 to 8C, so feeling pretty cold. No real risk of snow away from northern hills. So most should be fine. Enjoy. Thanks, Kasim.
