So far this spell of warm weather has been fairly uninspiring, with temperatures between 20 and 28C for most of us, and it has been fairly cool on the east coast.
However, that is all about to change. Tomorrow (Saturday) sees lighter winds and as a result temperatures really rocket – no sea breezes. The air will be drawn up from France, where all-time temperature records have been broken. Although it wont get as hot as France, it will be getting there. 35C is possible tomorrow afternoon for parts of central Southern England, in a line from Oxford, Reading and into London. A larger area will see temperatures of 30 to 33C, running from South Lincolnshire, right through the central and east Midlands, East Anglia and South East England.
Forecast maximum temperatures for tomorrow (Credit: theweatheroutlook):
As you can see, the heat will be widespread across much of England and East Wales, with temperatures well into the 20’s, if not low 30s. Some parts of southern England close to the mid 30s.
However, further north and west it will be markedly cooler in comparison to further south east, for parts of coastal NW England, West Wales, South West England, Ireland and Scotland, a more fresher feel with sunny spells and some cloudier conditions. By the end of the day, some patchy rain is also possible in Northern Ireland and Scotland, perhaps the odd rumble of thunder.
Temperatures will gradually cool down for all of us from Sunday into Monday, with temperatures returning to around average.
