The next couple of days will be characterized by pretty warm weather. A large area of high pressure will bring a good deal of dry and warm weather to the lower 2/3rds of the country (this excludes Scotland and Northern Ireland for the most part). Across some south eastern regions, temperatures could reach 27 to 28C (around 80F) by Friday afternoon.

Unfortunately it doesn’t last long, as a cold front on Saturday introduces fresher temperatures, a drop of around 6C in places. However, it wont be a washout. There will still be a good deal of dry weather, especially inland. Showers will be most likely through the weekend around northern and coastal areas, ie the North and East coast of Scotland perhaps some North Sea facing coasts.
Long range outlook: 8th to 16th of July 2019
Confidence in the forecast drops off the further out you go, however there are some solid signs for an improvement into next week (from the 8th on wards), with high pressure ridging in again. This means more dry and fairly pleasant weather is possible in the south next week, and to an extent central areas. However the jet stream will be closer to the north west, which at times could produce some outbreaks of rain, and breezy conditions in the north west of the UK next week, but even here there should be some decent days given the extent of high pressure.
