Last night, on the 10th of May 2020, Boris Johnson outlined that the first steps would be considered to attempt to reintroduce reception, year 1 and year 6 primary school students back into the schooling environment.
Many parents, and teachers, from across the UK have outlined concerns about this – stating that it is “impossible” for children to socially distance, and plead with the government to reverse this decision.
A petition, also asking the government not to implement this decision, was signed by almost 500,000 parents in the last 24 hours.
In the latest detailed plan outlined by the government, it states that parents will not be fined if they decide that school is not the right place for their children to go for the remainder of the academic year.
