A flash flood event is underway in parts of Cornwall and Devon following intense rainfall this afternoon. Over an inch of rain has fallen in many areas, meaning there is a heightened risk of surface inundation this evening in rural routes across the area. Impacts to travel therefore likely, including as this storm heads westwards along the south coast.
