The Met Office have issued a yellow, “be aware” thunderstorm weather-warning for Monday and Tuesday of next week. There is a growing risk of intense thunderstorms as the heat breaks down during this period. Some computer models suggest CAPE values of near 2000, which is enough to produce supercell thunderstorm activity
Much of the UK is noted as being at risk, at this point, however this is likely to become more refined in the coming days. Details such as refined timing and location (areas at highest risk) are uncertain at this stage. The Met Office weather warning currently covers all of the British Isles and can be accessed at the Met Office website.
Stay tuned for more information in the coming days about this potentially severe thunderstorm outbreak.
