Watersprouts are fairly common in the UK on days like today where some atmospheric instability is in place within a fairly volatile air mass. This image was sent into ys from Deal, the Kent coast around 30 mins ago (14:20), showing the beginnings of a watersprout, essentially a funnel cloud out to sea.
Elsewhere across southern England there are some scattered thunderstorms around. These producing some locally very heavy rainfall and as a result a risk of flash flooding. Particularly on the Essex and East Kent coasts.
