An intense thunderstorm formed over Devon this morning and has been slowing heading North Westwards in the past few hours. It passed over Porthmadog at 4pm and Llandudno at 5pm, now heading into the Irish Sea. The following image shows the latest lightning strikes as of 6:30pm. That storm is clearly visible just off the coast of North West Wales and is heading towards SW Scotland at present.
span style=”font-size: 16px;”>The thunderstorm unfortunately brought flooding to homes and businesses. These images were sent in on Twitter of flooding in Aberystwyth, West Wales.
There remains a further risk of thunderstorms tonight across the NW Midlands, North West England and North Wales.
