Magnitude 7.5 Earthquake strikes off Alaskan coast: tsunami threat evaluated

A significant magnitude 7.5 earthquake has recently struck off the Alaskan coast.

The immediate vicinity of the epicenter is sparsely populated, with the USGS triggered a tsunami warning for Sand Point, Cold Bay and Kodiak, sparsely populated areas of Alaska. That tsunami warning can be seen in the following image. No tsunami warning has been issued for the west USA coast, though keep an eye on subsequent postings.
