The Prime Minister has imminently placed a new tier 4 covid restriction for London and the South East as well as many other counties. The TWEET below contains a map showing which areas are in Tier 4, tier 3 etc.
*The Christmas household meeting window has been confined to Xmas day for the entire UK. Up to 3 households can mix on the 25th of December. Places inside of the new tier 4 restrictions not being permitted any household mixing even on Xmas day. Only people in the same household / support bubble can mix here.

Some reports suggest that the government’s likely decision is related to the new variant spotted in London and the South East, which may be responsible for the recent increase in cases here.

Unconfirmed as of yet, but looks like current Tier 3 areas in London, South East & the East of England may be moved into a new 'Tier 4' where non-essential retail is closed and Xmas household mixing is banned.
