Breaking: Cruise Ship Detached from Port as 90mph Wind Storm hits UK

A cruise ship has detatched from a port in Greenock, near Glasgow. A 91mph wind gust was reported in Mace Head Ireland and 78mph in Glasgow. The severe conditions are moving into Scotland right now with gusty winds also being recorded in England. A 63mph gust was recorded in Crosby, North West England…

The ship is about 650 yards out to sea and reports an operation to get the ship back to it’s port is now underway. More severe weather is forecast for the UK this week.. Winds will whip up in the south tomorrow evening with gales overnight into Friday. Saturday looks calmer by comparison. All eyes are then on Sunday for the potential, only the potential right now for widespread severe gales and flooding rains for many areas, the storm on Sunday could be very severe. There is some uncertainty regarding this system however.
