The roof and chimney of a house in Bensham, Newcastle has been blown off after 75mph gusts have been recorded in the North East of England. Also, worker in North Wales has been blown down a road after 85mph wind gusts. The top gust so far has been 91mph in western Ireland and more storms are forecast later this week…

All trains have been suspended in and out of Glasgow until 6:50pm. All trains between Newcastle and Edinburgh have been suspended due to downed trees. More Severe Weather is forecast this week. Heavy rain tomorrow across Wales and Northern England is likely to cause some flooding problems and more strong winds are forecast in the south later tomorrow and overnight into Friday with gusts of 50-60mph forecast. Calmer on Saturday before the potential for another storm on Sunday, which could be quite potent and offers further risk for flooding and severe gales, this time more focused perhaps to the south east of England however.
