Damage to Buildings Tornado confirmed in London (Barking)

A tornado touched down earlier this evening in Barking, East London. The Tornado was first reported at around 8:20pm and this is believed to be the time the tornado touched down and affected roughly a 2km stretch in the area

There are currently understood to be no fatalities in the area. Current estimations based on the damage suggest this could be an EF1 or EF2 tornado.

Footage from the area has captured the extensive damage. The following video shows the strong winds picking up at around 30 seconds in.

An emergency response is currently ongoing with several fire engines in the area. The main concern is residents trapped in homes where debris has fallen around houses.
