Morrisons and Sainsburys to forbidd maskless customers entry

From today, more stringent rules regarding mask wearing will be introduced to the UK supermarkets of Morrisons and Sainsburys. This includes not allowing customers who choose not to wear a mask entry into their stores, unless they have a medical exemption, as well as routine checking that customers adhere to these and other social distancing / covid related rules.

Chief executive David Potts for Morrisons, said “Those who are offered a face covering and decline to wear one won’t be allowed to shop at Morrisons unless they are medically exempt. Our store colleagues are working hard to feed you and your family, please be kind.”

Chief executive Simon Roberts for Sainsburys, said that the new rules will be introduced after many customers were noticed flouting social distancing rules, by not wearing masks and shopping in large groups. Minsters in the UK are currently discussing introducing a customer number limit in essential supermarket stores across the UK.
